Within the Audience features, we focus on four different data type values. We will explain each data type and show examples to give you a definition of what each type means and how each type works. 

Boolean

This value reflects the filters that will be answered with true, false, unknown, or has any value. Within the filters offered, this pertains to the locationPermission and notificationPermission filters. 

E.g. Selecting to send messages to all users who have their location permission turned off. (locationPermission = false)

Date

This data type reflects the attributes that are answered with a specific date. The rules for this value are in the format of:

  • Is less than
  • Is more than
  • Is exactly
  • Is between
  • Is before
  • Is after
  • Is unknown
  • Has any value

The current filters that utilize this value include:

  • dateBorn
  • dateCreated
  • dateLastopenedapp
  • dateLocationpermissionaccepted
  • dateNotificationpermissionaccepted

E.g. Selecting to send messages to all users who last opened the app between two specific months. (is between June and July)

Integer

This value displays numeric values for attribute filters. The rules that apply to this value are:

  • is less than
  • is more than
  • is at least
  • is at most
  • is equal to
  • is unknown
  • has any value

The filters available in audience with this value type include:

  • openedCount
  • percentageValue
  • receivedCount
  • visitedCount
  • sentCount

E.g. Selecting to send messages to all users with an openedCount is at least 30. 

String

A string value has a specific token that answers the filter demands. The value will be a specific rule from the following:

  • starts with 
  • ends with 
  • contains
  • does not contain
  • is 
  • is unknown
  • has any value

 The filters that answer a string value include:

  • deviceOS
  • OSversion 
  • deviceToken
  • email
  • facebookURL
  • gender
  • instagramURL
  • linkedinURL
  • name
  • phone
  • twitterURL 

E.g. Selecting to send a message to all users with an email address containing gmail. (email contains gmail)
